discussion What’s the saddest song you’ve ever heard?
No matter how many times you hear it always gives you the feels.
Edit: I didn’t expect as many responses as this has generated, and I’ve been working my way through the list. But the only song I will never listen to again is Routine by Steven Wilson. It breaks me in ways I can’t put into words.

discussion What’s a song with a message or moral that you disagree with?
A song came on at the bar yesterday, “What Would You Do?” By City High (2001).
This song was a top 10 hit back in 2001 and finished the year at 22 on the charts. Played all the time when I was a teen.
The protagonist of the song is a male at a party with multiple strippers. He recognizes one as a girl he went to school with. She explains to him that she has a hungry baby, and the father has abandoned them (a crack addict who is in and out of jail). On top of that, she’s had a rough life, and even had to run away from home as a teen because her dad raped her.
How does the song end? The male protagonist shames her for her choice of being a stripper and sex worker. He says, if it were him, he’d lift himself by the bootstraps and get a real job and stop making excuses. After all, he say, since his mom could get a real job then she should too.
Hearing this song made me realizes how messed up it is and struck me as super weird lyrics. What are some other famous songs with weird messages?

discussion What two songs - that both have the same title - do you enjoy?
I asked Google to play "Take it easy" expecting the Eagles to play, but it played "Take it easy" by Surfaces instead.
The two songs are completely unrelated, just the title is the same. The Surfaces song lyrics are an invitation to just chill, I like to play it on vacation and a reminder to take it easy.
What other same title songs are it out there?

discussion Harvey Danger's 1997 "Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?" Is the most 1997 album ever.
Was randomly reminded of this album just earlier. Listening to it now and remembering how great it is. Anyone else feel similar, or have 'if you like that you'll like this' suggestions?
For context, I'm 40.
